The image of an incomplete childish face appeared in my work soon after my immigration to the USA. It's interest lies in what is not there. I wanted to create the context of a lab to suggest that the figure is being under observation, and/or in mutation, within the idea of having to redefine or reinvent oneself within a different language and culture.
