Two names, one entity
As a young child, when offered something, I always presented my empty hand asking for the same thing for my twin. At the time the idea of self didn’t exist without the notion of the other. This twinning character has since translated in different ways in my art, such as my tendency to divide my objects in two, or my fascination for mirrors for example. For a long time I have contemplated the idea of combining my name and its reverse to create an artistic entity. Today, adopting, and assuming this stranger sounding name as part of my identity is a political gesture in the face of intolerance.
